Flex your Flaws

Updated: Jan 19, 2023

For everyone of us, having self-confidence is essential, but we can't have this kind of self-love if we can't accept ourselves first. I remember being in sixth grade when my acne first started to appear. At first, I believed it to be a typical adolescent experience, but as time passed, I came to realize that it was not. I remembered how I lost my confidence when many people, especially my family members, began to comment on the changes in my look and provide possible reasons and remedies that may help for this "flaw" that I possess. That's why I started experimenting with several products in an effort to achieve the perfect glass skin they like, but they were insufficient. In my tenth school year, I attempted to see a dermatologist, but that didn't help either and just made my skin much worse. having an acne was a dismal insecurity of mine but then i decided to take a look on the brighter side that having imperfections are just normal.

Let's all keep in mind that self-acceptance must begin with oneself so that you won't feel so sad the next time someone points out your imperfections. Remember that inner beauty is more beautiful than outer beauty. Don't hide your imperfections just to fit in with other people's standard; rather, make them an asset.
